Judging by other reviews, we must have hit the Pig on a off night (Sunday). My companion ordered the pulled BBQ plate which arrived after a considerable wait on what looked to be a slow night. It was attractively piled high with shredded pork but most of it was dry and inedible. Sides of sweet potato and slaw were fine but nothing really beyond average. I ordered the brisket burger medium well which was quite hefty. It arrived on a basic bun with the meat well done. Unfortunately I didn't detect any smoked brisket flavor that I was hoping for and overall it was rather flavorless. The side of fried okra was glistening with fry oil. If you are a true BBQ aficionado, I advise pedaling past the Pig.
Best waitress I have ever had. She had several big tables and no one ever ran short on drinks, food was served quickly and she was friendly and knowledgeable! Food was delicious, I highly recommend the brisket!
Highly enjoyable! We have a range of eating needs in our family from meat eaters to vegetarian and to Vegan. All were accommodated with excellent food, upbeat and great service by Heather and only a short wait despite large groups. Highly recommend.
I did something I rarely do. I only left a ten per cent tip.i usually leave 20 per cent and when on vacations it will be around 25-30 per cent. I hope that others avoid sitting in the bar area.
Really Delicious, and really nice server! Thank you for taking care of us Hannah! We were a large party and she did great getting everything for us. The food is southern, fresh, and flavorful. The pulled pork felt a bit plain, but with the barbeque sauce they have, it was really delicious. Lots of leftovers!
Was really disappointed in the overall experience here. The pork was good. The fries and bread were cold. And then there was the service. We were seated in the bar area and the waitress/bartender was more interested in taking care of the people at the bar than our party. When she took our order she said that she would bring drinks and hush puppies. Got drinks and NO hush puppies, or the water that was asked for. Hostess brought out meal and when we asked for a sauce that wasn't on table, she said our server would have to do that. Had to flag the waitress down for the sauce after waiting more than five minutes. That was the last time we saw her till it was very obvious that we were finished and she got our check. Never once asked if we needed anything else or how the food was.
