I have always shopped at Lowe's Foods for the past 10 years or more. I have, on occasion, asked the store manager to stock a particular item and he has done so for me! It's nice that someone listens and responds! The store is very clean, great meat dept. as well as fresh produce...all very good quality. The personnel are always friendly and go out if their way to be helpful. I shop exclusively at Lowe's and intend to continue to do so as long as I live in this area. Definitely FIVE STARS!!
On the Saturday morning before Thanksgiving, they only had two regular check out lines open and one express line open. Long wait to check out. Then the cashier didn't have enough cash in her drawer to give change. Had to go to customer service desk to get correct change. Customer service person was working the express lane and had to wait until he was free. Not a good experience on what management should have known was going to be a busy shopping day.
This is an excellent food shopping experience in a small mountain town setting. The produce, fish and meat departments are on par with the rest of this superb chain. We are Lowe's shoppers from the Raleigh area, so, we are accustomed to the store layout. The checkout was speedy and accurate.
I'd been dying to check out this grocery store chain for ages. When I saw there was one near where I was vacationing, I decided to drive over and check it out. It's just a regular grocery store and nothing to write home about (or to write a glowing review of either). It was just, meh. I simple do not know why people go on and on about this chain. My home town Publix is considerably better stocked. If you're coming from Banner Elk, save yourself the time and just go to Food Lion.
We are visiting from AZ and noticed the Store and Staff were very nice and helpful and the store very clean and well laid out. We do think the prices are 20% too high.
